Backcountry Skiing in the Pyrenees

Personal log of a novice backcountry skier in his backyard

San Lorenzo (La Rioja) – 21 April 2013

Another chilly night (this time down in Ezcaray, with -4ºC celsius temps) and then we drove up again. I did the same route as yesterday and it could very well be the last day I ski it this season as the snow cover is very thin, specially at the summit). Got a proper glimpse at the South side, that looks like a good option for next winter with someone else. Meanwhile the scottish girl walked up to a nearby ridge all by herself. We met in the van, ready for another pizza before driving back home.
